The Global Undersea Research Unit (GURU) is the newest unit of the School of Fisheries & Ocean Sciences.  Its faculty and graduate students emphasize seafloor research in marine biology and geology.  GURU provides access to undersea technologies through management of the Kasitsna Bay Laboratory, a marine lab near Seldovia, and through the West Coast & Polar Regions Undersea Research Center.
